Contributions to a PRSA up to the following limits will be allowable in full for tax and PRSI / Health Levy relief.
If your employer is contributing to your PRSA, the tax relief limits below apply to the total of employer and employee contributions.
If you pay more than the limits below, you will not get tax relief on the excess, but can claim tax relief on the excess in future years, if your limit is not reached.
If you are not in paid employment, you can still contribute to your PRSA. You will not get tax relief because you are not paying tax, but you can carry your tax relief forward into future years when you may be earning again.
In addition, the funds in which any PRSA invest are exempt from DIRT or Capital Gains Tax.
